Here’s something a little different. It’s a map I did for BA Highlife on an article about the buildings found in and around the Olympic site.

On a personal note, I have grown to appreciate the logo, probably thanks to it being plastered on everything, but I’m still not too keen on the two mascots. I think they’re called Manville and Wensleydale. Anyway, closer to the time I will be creating my own alternative mascot, so watch this space!

Here’s a map I did for the June issue of Philadelphia Magazine on eating out on the south New Jersey coast – It landed on my doorstep just the other day and was a lovely surprise!

February in the UK is not my favorite month of the year. It can be cold, wet, and icy. Not ideal conditions for a 14 mile time trial. But every year, unless the road is covered in ice, the Kingston Wheelers CC hold this event in memory of Gil Jessop, an original member of the club. When asked how he trained for 24 hour races. He said: “I start in Kingston Market Place and ride to Lincoln and back.” – A distance of at least 300miles!

Autumn has arrived. There is certainly a chill in the air. It has made me dig out the old hat that had been hibernating in the bottom draw. As long as it is not too cold and damp out there I don’t mind autumn, it’s a lovely season… definitely in my top four!

Quite a while back I was asked to do a few bits and pieces for Karl’s book. It’s a wonderfully funny travelogue, where Karl is sent to visit seven places in the world to ‘broaden his mind’. Every now and then Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant check up on him to give their uncanny moral support!

An eagle-eyed friend (thanks Al!) spotted one of my maps printed in The Observer Magazine. It appears in the book review section alongside a snippet from a book that is to be released later this week. More details on that when it happens.

Here is a map I created for St Louis Magazine. It shows the location of artists from St Louis who have moved over to New York City. There are many little details on there like the Empire State Building, the Guggenheim Museum, Chrysler Building, and of course, the Statue of Liberty.

Actually there is a little story behind this one. After completing the piece in my tent I then went in search of Wifi. Normally this would be easy, but this is the Rhône-Alpes and it took quite a few Km’s of cycling to find it… my pronunciation of “Avez-vous Wifi?” became very good, it may even have a touch of the regional accent too!

Completed my third “Tour de France” this summer. Just under 2500Km was covered in 22 days. Highlights include staying at the Foyer de Charité in Châteauneuf de Galaure, riding over Mt Ventoux, bumping into two jolly French teachers near Bordeaux, and meeting up with some friends in Brittany.

Plenty of cheese, wine, and beer was consumed along the way. One day half a pack of butter was eaten with a baguette and some brié… even so, I still lost 5Kg in weight!

Believe it or not, the piece above is over a meter wide and sits on a client’s wall. There’s a fair bit of detail you can’t see clearly here, but I thought I’d put it up anyway!
